Lewisia tweedyi

This alpine grows in North America in the mountains of Washington State and British Columbia. It is a reliable perennial plant and is widely cultivated in the U.K. especially in alpine houses. It does, however, need very good drainage. If grown outside it is best facing horizontally coming from crevices in rockeries. This ensures that water does not accumulate in the crown.
