The return trip home
on a cool spring day we have
a quiet highway

~ carliewired

We were up and away after breakfast at the White Spot. I stopped to take a photo of the statue of Terry Fox, our one-legged marathon runner who has raised more than $400 million for cancer research. Also got a shot of the totem in front of the Two Rivers Gallery in downtown Prince George.
Our drive south on the Cariboo Highway (97) showed us that spring was just beginning. There were lots of new calves to be seen. Horses were grazing. Deer were visible near the highway. Snow capped the mountains in the Coast Range. We could see snow in shady spots between trees in some places.
I got a shot of the Fraser River showing how muddy it is.
We made a brief stop in 100 Mile House to take a photo of the world's largest cross country skis. They are featured beside the Tourist Information Centre. This area is known for its cross country ski trails.
We were home before dark. Pizza in front of the television catching the end of the Montreal vs Ottawa hockey game.
