Sultana Scones

Made these today, we shall have them after supper for pudding. Scones are one of MrC&D favourites, I am too kind to him!

I may save one for Kelly...he is such a good boy!

These are from a recipe on another forum from an Australian lady, and I did not believe it would work, but it does, so do try them! I modified the recipe cos after all a scone is not a scone without a sultana, and I also felt they could be a teeny bit sweeter, but the original recipe is just three ingredients so super super easy.

Scones

3 cups SR flour
1 cup lemonade
1 cup double cream

MrsC&D's additions: 1 cup sultanas, half a cup of icing sugar

Sieve the flour and icing sugar into a bowl. Add the sultanas. Add the cream and the lemonade and mix with a table knife.

When you have a soft not sticky ball of dough, tip it onto a floured board and press gently to about an inch thick, cut out scones, place onto a tray and bake in a hottish oven for 15 mins or so till golden and risen.

Scoff with jam and clotted cream.
