Today should have been a good day
But instead, it's a bad day
Today should have been a happy day
But instead, it's a sad day
Should be sat here in celebration
But instead, It's desolation
Should be the party
Not the onlooker
It's so easy to look back
And see a word
That shouldn't be said
To know
That an action
Shouldn't be carried out
So easy in hindsight
But foresight
Only sees
The barrel's end
And a trigger
Be it metaphorical
Or hard reality
Once pulled
Has to run its course
The bullet
To fly
A target to hit
I pray
That the wound
Is not a fatal one
