Preparatiom for Tuesday

I've been blessed in leading a Bible study group since January 2013.  The first study was 31 weeks.  No one wanted to stop, so we've done many 4 - 8 week studies since then.  We meet on Tuesdays from 1:30 - 2:45.  We  had 13 regulars in the first group, and now our attendance is usually 22.  The reason for the materials in the photo is we are currently studying "Revival" a book describing a life of faith as John Wesley lived it.  Wesley was born in 1703, became an ordained priest in the Church of England, and unintentionally founded what became the Methodist Church.  We always choose a study with a weekly 8 - 15 minute lesson on DVD, followed by our study and discussion time.  The teacher for this one is Adam Hamilton, a Methodist minister who leads a church of 8,000 near Kansas City.  His lessons are on site in England and tomorrow's focus is entirely about Wesley's time at Oxford as a student and later as a faculty member.  That's my copy of William Law's A Serious Call to a Devout and Holy Life which had a significant impact on Wesley when he read it in 1730.  The DVD and Revival book are in the photo along with my handout on tomorrow's lesson, and a copy of The Joy of the Saints.  The latter is a book of daily readings from many Christian writers, the most recent writer featured in the book is John Wesley.  The earliest is St. Augustine.  William Law is included in The Joy of the Saints.  He was a non-juror (unable or unwilling to swear allegiance to George I), and therefore barred from any university or church appointment.  The last item in the photo is Strong's complete concordance of the Bible that includes Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic dictionaries with references to Biblical passages.  It was a gift to me from the owner of my favorite used bookshop.
