What's not to love!!!!

At Myattsfield Winery today for a tête-à-tête-à-tête of Chardonnay made in three different styles by the three winemakers from the same parcel of fruit.
That in itself a treat but...
...the blind tasting started off with winemaker R wielding a champagne sword (sabre à champagne)!!
With one deft swipe in a technique called sabrage the bottle was opened, the cork and the collar staying in tact.

No sharp edges involved..it is the blunt edge of the sword that does the deed. However possibly best not tried at home with the dodgy knives that barely slice a tomato.


What a way to start any proceedings!
