Nothing to brogue about

Typical... I set off to buy a pair of sturdy yet smart black Chelsea boots, and ended up with smart brown brogues, complete with leather soles. I've not had brogues before (as far as I know) and these will hopefully last a long while. Leather soles: much fun sliding around on the carpet before wearing them outdoors.
