Anyone notice that it's the Diamond Jubilee?

I saw this wee arrangement at a Jubilee tea party this afternoon.

Shamrock for Ireland
Roses for England
Daffodils for Wales and
Thistles for Scotland.

They are arranged in a little tin which was issued to all school children in Glasgow at the time of the Queen's coronation in1953. The tin was filled with sweeties!

I had heard about these tins of sweeties but had never seen one before.

This one belongs to a friend of our family who is obviously very good at looking after things!!
