Tuesday 5 June 2012: Another visitor!
It's a good job we are having a serious sort out upstairs as we would not have heard this second jackdaw down the chimney today. He must be the older sibling of our fledgling last Thursday and this gave him a better chance of survival. All decorating and clearing had to stop as he kept hopping back up the chimney so we had to disappear until he decided to come out into the room. When I looked after lunch he was on the windowsill calling to his parents. Eventually he was startled and flew out into a neighbouring garden. I don't think we will need to worry about him. That extra week will make all the difference, as does the look of him compared to his sibling. We have three parts to the chimney on our roof and it looks like only one of them has a cowl, so we are now searching for a roofer to cap the others!
