Watering the grass

It's new grass, they finished laying is yesterday.
But it's not real grass, it's what they call over here " turf".
Just like real grass, they water it before every game to help settle the in-fill pellets down between the blades. They used to have 10 guys with a very long hose-pipe do it, I guess this is more efficient.
Putting this new turf in was one of the stipulations from FIFA, (yes, THAT FIFA), in order to hold the Womens World Cup which starts next week. We're told it cost $1.4 million but hey, who cares, it's only tax payers money isn't it. (I shouldn't be so flippant, the turf needed replacing anyway and the net boost to the Vancouver economy will be $52 million.)
Oh, and btw, the 'Caps beat Real Salt Lake 2-1 to go back to joint top of the league.

Ah well. Untill tomorrow...
