Monday 20 October 2008: Ghoom Railway Station

Part of a 2 week holiday back blip starting here on October 14th...

Four simple reasons for this being blipped:

This 'Toy Train' station is the highest in the world (and the Toy Trains are a World Heritage 'monument');

It highlights the awful road conditions in Darjeeling in particular, and West Bengal in general;

It shows how busy the roads get, and where there are cars, trucks and buses on the roads there is also constant, and I mean constant, blaring of horns; and

We spent the day traveling and I only really had six shots of note and the only other two I considered blipping were a truck, or our little train compartment on what was apparently the fanciest train in these here parts...
