River of Flowers

Ginkgo Biloba

This tree was one of 2 which I grew from seed 36 years ago! The plan was to keep them as bonsai, but I managed to kill one by neglecting it (what green fingers?) due to being a first time Mum! This surviving one was stuck outside in a largish pot, then neglected whilst watching after two toddlers.

The poor tree was finally planted in its current postition when we bought a piece of land next to us and had our third child, 27 years ago. It hasn't grown very tall, barely reaching 6 foot. In the Autumn the leaves turn the loveliest lime colour, must remember to blip it when this happens.

There is a beautiful one in the walled garden at Penrhyn Castle, I had meant to ask TrueWhitewings if they saw it on their visit a few weeks ago!
