The Academic Procession

After the installation of the Princess Royal as the first Chancellor of the University of the Highlands and Islands this afternoon she led the academic procession back from the Cathedral in Inverness along the banks of the River Ness to the UHI offices .

It was a great occasion with lots of people taking photographs. Of course I couldn't resist so this is from my vantage point towards the front looking back along the procession with - in the foreground- the two new honorary fellows of the University, Professor Bob Cormack , the former Principal and Colin MacKay CBE , the former chair.
