The Arbutus Fence

Decided to make something out of the leftover pile of arbutus branches from the tree we felled last year.   We have plenty to burn and do other things with (It was a huge tree).  So we made this “fence” on the moss partly because the colors look so good together (I know  the arbutus will get dark as it dries out more, but as Andy Goldsworthy says, that’s part of the deal.  Take a photo!).  The most exciting part of this picture tho is that they are wet!!  It’s just begun to rain!  Hurray!!


This morning it was overcast and dead calm so we rowed around the island.   It took us 70 minutes.  I remember when it took 50 minutes.   sigh.
