Dry Ice Debut - a Proud Mum Day

And proud sister, brother, dad, aunt, uncle and cousins!

So our main reason for a trip to Cambridge this weekend, was to see Henry play in his band Dry Ice at the Linton Musical Picnic. Arriving at Wandlebury we lunched and then headed into Linton in a fine rain, praying the sun would soon come out to dry it up.

Sadly the dismal weather persisted, which was such a shame as the whole afternoon was filled with musical features for the people to enjoy. What tends to happen when the weather is poor, is that the parents of the children singing, or taking part in one of the talented bands, are those who support the event. The remainder of the village stay at home. However, Henry and his friends who make up 'Dry Ice' were not due to play until 5.40 and by some miracle, it dried up and the sun actually started to come through.

The boys really did themselves proud. Their rendition of 'Eye of the Tiger' was unique and with their limited time practicing together, it was evident they all have real talent. I know I watched with pride, as did my fellow mums. They easily had the biggest crowd of the afternoon, and the loudest cheer. I had also been able to catch up with a few friends from Linton, who were all working hard to make the village event a success despite the weather.

We headed back home with my sister and her family, to enjoy what will probably be their last visit to Wandlebury. After a joint effort for tea, we had a walk around the park before they went back home - one hour in the opposite direction to Gresham - which now puts us 3 hours apart give or take 20 minutes.

Jon is working this evening. He is in Cambridge doing a bushcraft party for a 40th birthday, entertaining the children with fire lighting, bannock bread baking, whistle making, plus making paracord bracelets. I know they will be pleased with their choice of entertainer! So anyone looking for something a bit different for a party, Jon is your man. Backyard Bushcraft - he comes to you!

So many lovely photos today, I just had to add a few extras for your enjoyment :-)
