Eat your heart out Calmac!
A busy day today.
We were at the ferry terminal in Hirtshals at 7.30am to board the cleanest shiniest ferry ever! The car deck was like a motorhome showroom and it even had a helipad! This is the sundeck......I think it's very Scandinavian looking.
Mr Q had booked us a very nice cabin (pure decadence for a day sailing) and most appreciated. It was a very relaxing journey.
We arrived in Langesund and headed up to Oslo, doing a few circuits of the same bit of motorway until we worked out how to get into our campsite at the Marina.
After a quick cup of tea, we walked along the waterfront into the centre where there was a midsummer celebration going on. Lots of people and lots of music, chatter and general buzz.
We took a taxi home via the Opera House (the other direction, and through some tunnels) which I was keen to see. It's an impressive modern building which rises from the water.
I think Oslo is going to become one of my favourite cities. It has such a good feel to it.
Semi-Q has been avidly reading her kindle so the cards have stayed in their box - I'm writing this very quietly!
Things to remember about today:-
Taxi drivers drive very fast and overtake on the inside at speed in tunnels
Fish soup
Container filled with flowers and lined in mirrors
