All Dressed Up . . .
and nowhere to go. This church opportunity shop (as we call them) has styled it's window to catch the school ball season. I think a 17 year old young lady could make something of these for a small cost.
We were walking to a restaurant for a celebration dinner for a friend who retired after 49 and half years in the forest industry. He had wanted to make it to 50 years but the restructuring of his organization came sooner than he thought. Back when he started you could leave school and be trained on the job and rise through the management structure. Okay for him to go but not so much for his young colleague with three children. It was interesting to hear in the speeches a slice of the history of forestry in New Zealand and compare that with the corporate forestry of today. I had wanted to take a photo of him but the lighting was fluro tubes on a low ceiling and I didn't know how to cope with that and no one else had a camera so I wasn't brave enough.
