School Trip

WSA RAG went on a trip to Brighton today.

We all piled in the minibus at 10.30 and set off. Me and Pose decided we made a mistake sitting near the front. For someone who enjoys order and meticulous planning so much, Graham is worryingly nonchalant when it comes to driving a huge heavy bus of 15 people.

The plan was to arrive soon after midday, then have a couple of hours before starting a collection at 2. In the end, the traffic was awful most of the way (it took over an hour to get to Southampton) and parking was impossible. We arrived at about 2.30 and set straight out with our buckets and smiles.

It was very different to collecting in Winchester. People were less friendly, it was so much louder so more difficult to talk to people, and the wind was ridiculous. There was one man that gave me a pound and told me that I was too pale and needed to spend more time in the sun.

We worked until 6, then all met up on the beach for fish and chips. Graham ignored common sense and the fact he had to drive 2 hours home and went fell in the sea with his clothes on.

Got back home just after 9 to find that our next door neighbours were having a party. I didn't think it was even possible to have such loud music outside of a festival. There was nowhere in the house where it wasn't ridiculously loud. I managed to sleep through it in the end. I have no idea when it stopped but it was still going strong at midnight.
