How many rings?

Have been round to my parents today to help my mum clear out some rubbish and stuff from their shed whilst my dad was out.
I now have a boot full of stuff to take to the charity shop Emaus tomorrow, (as it was shut today), but dont tell my dad, or he will make me bring it back again.

This is part of the old cherry tree, the trunk was cut down yesterday, my poor mum stayed out of the way whilst 2 80 year olds attempted to take the rest down.
The man who cut it down is taking the wood for wood carving.
