Sunday 10 June 2012: Kontiki raft race champions
My scout group took park in the district water fun day today - a highlight being the kontiki raft race.
The scouts had 1 hour to build the raft without any help or advice from adults, they then race the raft around a course on the lake against the other dozen teams.
I was really proud of them and win or loose, they deserved bags of credit - but... they won! With the fastest time, so they get to keep the trophy for a year.
It was a great event, around 100 kids in canoes, bell boats & rafts all day, having a whale if a time - hats of to the district organisers!
