Olympic flame

The Olympic flame came to John O Groats this afternoon.

The "Official" torch was probably in Orkney on its way to Shetland as the Powers That Be decided that although the Torch would go to Lands End, for some reason it bypassed anyhwere on the mainland north of Inverness. Come on....John O Groats is as iconic as Landsend!

Anyway we have an "offshoot" here, and although a lot of people dont think this is The Olympic Torch, its a flame from the flame, and lets admit it....every torch is either The Torch or not The Torch depending on how you look at it.

So although Caithness was snubbed, it was nice to see the Torch carried to our area.

While people took lots of photos of The Torch, the Olympic guys stood right in front of me (there were two lanps holding flames) and no-one seemed to notice.

So here's my contribution....the Olympic Flame, all snug in its Davy lamp....which to me means more than the Torch.
