Tanabata - Star Festival

This traditional celebration commemorates an old romantic tale of two gods, represented by the stars Altair and Vega. According to legend, the Milky Way separates these two lovers who are only allowed to meet once a year on the 7th day of the 7th month.

People celebrate by writing wishes on pieces of paper and hanging them on bamboo decorations sometimes called a wish tree. These trees appear all over the city, This one is at the entrance of my favourite park.
