Today is a new day...

Best Ever

We decided to have an easy day today. This is the first time this holiday that we have stayed in the same place for more than one night. After a relaxing start, we took the train to Helsingor (where we arrived by ferry yesterday). We wandered about the shops and stopped in the square for lunch. More wandering and then back to a lovely café - Café Andre for cake and coffee. It was quite possibly the best cheesecake in the entire world.

We took a wander over to Hamlet's Castle for a closer look and then headed for the train home.

The ticket inspector on the train told us we had not 'checked in' our card and that we had to get off at the next stop, check in at the machine and get the next train. We explained that we had tried to check in for the three of us but he really wasn't interested. Luckily for us the next stop was our one anyway!

Home for a wee rest and then we walked down to the marina at the bottom of the road where there was a great restaurant for dinner.

A perfect holiday day. Well, except for the rather long black snake we saw at close quarters earlier in the day. Semi-Q was a bit jumpy after that!

Things to remember from today:-

Slugs aren't so bad after all when you have to look out for snakes too
Cheesecake in jars
Tourists taking selfies with a swan
Family of foxes playing in the field
Grumpy ticket inspector
Attractive (!!) rain ponchos worn by Semi-Q and me
