Why mock orange?
Is it a truly a joke
Has that poor fruit ever
A word of jest spoke?
Why can we only have
Fruit on a special day
Has anyone after all
Heard of a fruit mondae?
A banana has appeal
Yet so do others too
But they don't make you slip
If found under your shoe
The ripple from a rasberry
Looks good in your ice-cream
Yet when it's heard
The girls all giggle and scream
So what is the amusment
Is this flower really strange?
No, of course, it's because
It smells of a sweet orange
