Agios Nikolaos Day 6

When we had cocktails up at Chez Georges the other night we promised ourselves that we'd go back during daylight hours for the sake of the wonderful view over Lake Voulesmeni and the town looking out to sea. Today was the perfect day to do that. We've been experiencing strong winds since we got here. They were more a nuisance than an annoyance, but it was relief nonetheless to feel the wind drop last night, and to find this morning that it had faded away to almost nothing. Of course, that meant that the cooling effect was missing, so it felt really hot. It's been consistently in the top '20s all the time, and today was the same, but 29° today felt more than that. Add to that a cloudless blue sky and you're talking paradise, basically.

We had lunch first in a little place close to home, and then went looking for a pharmacy to get a cough bottle for me, which brought us to the foot of the steps which lead up to the street with the Piano Bar restaurant and the café beside it, and then on to Chez Georges and the superbly situated restaurant underneath it. What views! What perfect conditions!

After some time up there with jaws agape it was back down to lakeside for a pit stop and for a walk through a part of town which was new to us.  A much-needed siesta followed, then once again it was out for one of our now traditional late meals, again close to home. We were back at our hotel just before midnight, early by our standards.

p.s. As with yesterday's blip, I'm noticing a worrying trend with this image. Is Blipfoto doing some compression thing with uploads? The original of this is almost ridiculously crisp and sharp, but it doesn't look at all good on Blipfoto on my iPad. Disappointing. Things are better using the isolated view, though the actual size of the image then rather crazily reduces.
