The Back Fence

The yard on the other side of this fence is all hard dirt and rampant weeds--no one has cared for that piece of land for years, not since those neighbors passed on and the house was sold and set up as a student rental. The kids that pass through there don't have the time or the inclination to work outside, and the owner seems interested only in getting the rent check. As for us, we are just trying to keep those weeds from eating their way through into our garden. There's a creek back there, and sometimes you can hear the water flowing. I had an idea once to ask if I could plant there, but I'm kinda glad I didn't; we have too much to take care of as it is.
