Old Cote Moor

It's been another full-on day today, although there wasn't so much scope for hardcore bimbling as there was quite a bit of walking to be done. After first stopping by to again observe the family of Peregrine Falcons at the Cove (one of the parents blipped beautifully here by TJ, which is an absolute must-see!), we walked to Arncliffe via the old Monk's Road, in reality a beautiful grassy path that wound its way over the limestone plateau. A quick bite to eat at the pub and we climbed over the ridge to Kettlewell where, with just five minutes to spare, we caught the bus back to Ilkley via Skipton.

The day was mostly overcast but we enjoyed a view for most of the route, although the tops such as Great Whernside were covered in cloud. The sun only broke through on a couple of occasions, and then just briefly. On a ridiculously cool day for June, those few moments of warmth were the only reminder we had that it is actually summer! This shot was taken during one such moment, looking North West up Littondale over Old Cote Moor. It's another classic Dales landscape shot.

Once home we were soon out the door again for a hastily arranged blipmeet with PaulFS, who kindly drove out to join us for a short walk at the Cow and Calf rocks followed by a quick pint at the nearby pub. Nearly two hours passed by in a flash, which is what always seems to happen when blippers get to together to chat! He has taken a truly lovely picture of us here.

After a bite to eat it is now turned midnight so officially a back-blip. Thank you to all those people following our little adventure here in the Dales and being kind enough to leave comments. It's been so lovely to catch up with them all this evening.
