Wednesday 6 June 2012: function before form
The herniaic swelling has all but disappeared now, leaving a rapidly-retreating normal outie bellybutton. More noticeably protruberant is his lowest left rib, but apparently my mum's lowest left rib sticks out a bit too. He could have exhibited his great-uncle's weird sunken manubrium, so a bit of a sticky-out rib isn't much to worry about really. Sometimes he can suck in his abdomen so that it appears almost normal, but he seems to prefer keeping it bellied-out like this most of the time.
