BlipaEwan 88...

This is my monthly track of my children as they grow to see how they change as time goes by. I take the same photo in the same place each 1st and 15th of each month along with a wee diary of what has happened and how life has progressed for each of them. Bethany on the 1st and Ewan on the 15th. It is quite remarkable and is accentuated by the 1 year ago thumbnail down in the bottom right.

We’ve just gotten back from holiday and although I kept the holiday blips free of a certain subject, it is worth noting as it was a significant part of the holiday.  The significant not previously named is the strops.  For some reason he got these horrendous strop/tantrums whilst on holiday.  We were getting them regularly every day at one point but they always followed a very similar pattern to the point that they were a bit odd.  He would get a subject, for instance “I wanted to get a lego set.” A lego set we wouldn’t let him buy on the boat before we’d even made it across the channel.  He would then do this rhythmic repeating of it over and over getting himself all upset.  “I…wanted….to….get….the….lego….seeettttt”  Drawing out the final word.  What ever the subject of the strop it was the same rhythmic pattern with the drawn out final word.  It got to a point where you couldn’t speak to him and he completely forgot what he was upset about even though he was saying it over and over.  We eventually worked out that no amount of reasoning helped him out of it and the only thing was to ignore him until he effectively ran out of steam and then as easily he went into it, he snapped out of it.  Very odd.  I suspect it was heat related but we just don’t know.

Aside from that he in general had a great holiday and was for the most part on top form.  His other wee habit was the one he is demonstrating here, two fingers over his face for any photos he was in.  It became the holiday motif.
