Wednesday 13 June 2012: Remnants of a meeting.
Meetings, meeting everywhere and not a drop to drink. Oh, I do tell a lie I had a cup of instant coffee at the Bakewell In Bloom meeting this morning.
This is the end or aftermath! of the Olympic Torch meeting this afternoon in the town hall.
The torch has deigned its presence in Bakewell starting at 16.23 on the 29th of July.
What would appear on the surface to be a straight forward business of someone running with a torch through a small Peak Town has been turned by the powers that be at LOCOG into a military manouvere with the good people of Bakewell chipping in with the entertainment.
Unbelievable what it entails, insurances, STERILE ZONES and the KISSING POINTS where the torch gets handed over!!!
Amazing and Eye opening.
One of the upshots is that I get to open it along with a district councillor as its their recreation ground we're using for the entertainment.
Can't wait as I love the Olympics.
