Semper fidelis

After a gentle session of throw and fetch Casey settled at my feet reminding me of those tombs with crusader knights and their ladies lying with their ankles resting on animals. In the wife's case dogs symbolised fidelity, real or imagined.

The other notable thing at the beach was a compass jellyfish (in extras) with its pattern of 16 angular points making a striking impression as it lay washed up on the strand not far from the scampering children. Fortunately it was dead:
'The stinging cells and venom of Chrysaora hysoscella are strong and can produce painful, long lasting wheals in humans.'
