Wednesday 13 June 2012: Torch
Here's one of the hundred and twenty torch bearers today, Jamie Andrew.
I picked this one because I liked this expression, and because I found his story on the website. I saw a couple of other runners and got better closer pictures, but I liked this. Here are some others.
I went out to Slateford to see the torch because I knew i'd get a few chances with it stopping for the commercial break at Asda. And because I could get high above the road at Slateford station. It was very busy though, I estimate there was a couple of thousand people.
I got in a great position but realised I hadn't put the CF card in the camera. Luckily Asda had a 4Gb one on sale.
I was a torch sceptic till I went and saw it. Saw people interested saw children with torches made at school, saw police motorbikes beeping and waving, playing for the crowds, saw the runners beaming with pride, curiosity, emotion. I did my best to avoid seeing the sponsor vans...
I'll likely never see another one. And that's a nice thing to have seen.
Deos anyone know if there is a blip tag for torch relay?
