Wednesday 13 June 2012: Torch and Go......

.....a busy day at the pit face trying to get things ready for a couple of days out of the office. The jolly atmosphere was enhanced when my new pants were exposed to the world.

Rushed home to collect Stig and Nancy and we toddled up to the chateau for the Olympic Torch Flame reception to Edinburgh. Much fliff flaff before Emeli Sande gave us something to really cheer about, and then the torch bearer made her entrance to a noisy and appreciative crowd. All was going well until the Lord Provost stood up to address us at length, quickly resulting in an exodus for the doors, "Take your visual clues from your audience and sit the F down man", I thought out loud.

Off to Berwick tomorrow for a spot of 'shell suit and fire' fun....see you at Borders General Hospital later.
