Summer Love: Damselfly Heart

It was a fine morning for a swim at Whipple Dam, before the heat of the day kicked in. And so off we went, and the water was cool and clear and beautiful. What a refreshing way to begin a day! The water was smooth as silk against my skin, and it even made my hair feel softer; it was like swimming in rain water.

There was also a lot of dragonfly and damselfly activity on the lake. Some creatures were flying around looking for tasty snacks to eat. Others were in search of a hot new summer romance, and a few were even lucky enough to find it!

The song to accompany this image of mid-summer damselfly romance is Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta, singing Summer Nights, from the 1978 film, Grease.
