Aloha Ahakista!

Well, 350 of us adorned in colourful Hawaiian gear crammed into a marquee for the quiz night of the Regatta festival, hosted by the bouncy Mr Norton. Outside it lashed, as he noted 'there's nothing like the sound of torrential rain on canvas and the smell of damp matting!' A wild time was had. The local Foroige (youth club) set the questions and  they were suitably varied -  number of chapters in the Old Testament anyone?? The local priest and vicar were in attendance and at times there was a clergy-off!! In fact one of the prizes of the raffle was an evening with the parish priest - a four course meal cooked by him with his signature cocktail Fire and Brimstone!! Graham was in fine form. What a charming man he is - so easy and so giving with his time. I was too snobby to queue up for a photo with eveyone else so you'll have to make do with this one taken from afar.
A quiet day pottering beckons as the weather closes in for the Bank Holiday!
