Sweeping up to the sky

Day two of our little jaunt, we were up early and after a full cooked breakfast decided to head down to the beach. We decided to explore the wilder side of the beach past the river Aln inlet, an area of huge mountain like sand dunes and soft near white sand. I took this photo after climbing one of them and got my reward as it afforded me this incredible vantage point looking out over the wide beach and ocean. As morning turned to afternoon we headed to the next town Warkworth, visited the castle there and had lunch at a cute little cafe that had only just opened. Before heading back to Edinburgh we watched the end of the Alnmouth river raft race a wonderfully fun and celebratory experience to be a part of. We had a great time and it was as always great to see something new and also to enjoy the hospitality of the people of Northumberland. They certainly know how to make a person feel welcome, I'd definitely go back!
