Sgwarnog: In the Field

Guerilla Knitting

I'm a big fan of guerilla knitting*, or yarn bombing or whatever it's called this week.  I think I first came across some in Lancaster a few years ago and now it pops up quite frequently in my urban wanderings.

It does seem to be an urban phenomenon which perhaps reflects that in the countryside and edgelands 1) we have sheep and 2) we wear jumpers and therefore are not so needful of yarn enrichment.

This particularly fine example is currently adorning the sheep sculpture in Shipley's Market Square. A yarn gag so layered it wraps a scarf around its own poncho.

* Although as a vegan my enthusiasm extends only to synthentic yarn.
