evening bees

It rained in stair-rods all morning. Torrential. 

I enjoyed a day indoors on my various projects. The quilt is coming on brilliantly, but I'm not going to blip it again till it's finished, for fear of spoiling the surprise.

This evening the rain stopped and a bit of pale sunshine appeared. There are still no butterflies on the buddleia but the stands of balsam were alive with bumble bees, humming in the evening sun.
