Now there's a thought ....

An "at home" day today, quite welcome after a hectic time. So, it's catching up with things that should have been done long ago, catching up with the Aussies beating the All Blacks but losing the Ashes to England. And getting ready for services tomorrow. It's also the Feast of St Dominic, patron saint of Astronomers, founder of the Order of Preachers. Sadly, Dominic died at the age of fifty-one, "exhausted with the austerities and labours of his career". Hmmm. Now there's a thought. Whilst he didn't leave money or property behind, he did leave a marvellous quote:

"These, my much loved ones, are the bequests which I leave to you as my sons; have charity among yourselves; hold fast to humility; keep a willing poverty."
