Forgot to count the mouthfuls

Which, in case you haven't seen the news in the past 24 hours is a reference to the blog site of a nine-year-old girl called Martha in the west of Scotland that has been at the centre of a media storm. She has been photo-blogging about her school dinners, and had already attracted a fair amount of attention, with support from celebrity chefs like Nick Nairn and Jamie Oliver. Trouble was, yesterday a Scottish newspaper created a light-hearted headline about being 'time to fire the dinner ladies' inspired by a picture of the girl and Nairn laughing as they cooked a flaming dish. And that seemed to prompt an over the top reaction from the Argyll and Bute council to ban the girl from taking pictures of her lunches and effectively stopped her blog.
Except.
People noticed.
After all she had already attracted almost two million hits to the blog. Hence the media interest.
And although the council have 'previous form' in their dealings with social media that might have made them think very carefully about their reaction, today they reaped a whirlwind, leading to a change of heart and a removal of the ban. And amidst all the attention her associated fundraising for a charity called Mary's Meals, that helps fund feeding projects around the world has now raised over £46000 from online donations!!
Which is why I took another photo of my tea!
(One of the things that Martha has been doing is counting how many mouthfuls it takes to eat each of her lunches, hence the title of this post.)
