Repaired drystane dyke

Here's a section of a wall which was repaired by my drystane dyking friends in April. They were working on it the weekend I was away for the London marathon and I was sorry to miss this (but wouldn't have missed the chance to run this marathon!). Anyway, this wall had a large gap at the west end of Torduff Reservoir and if you look closely, I think you'll see the change in the colour of (and plant life on) the stone. This type of repair work is called gapping.

It was pouring with rain this morning when I was out for a run, and so I decided it would be appropriate to follow the "water tap" route via the reservoirs and have a look at this wall and this is what I found. A job well done.
