Friday 15 June 2012: Ye Banks And Braes.....
.....the alarm went off 30seconds after I went to bed, and I knew that I'd slept in. I was due in Polmont and Falkirk for the first of several primary school visits at 8.30am and it was 7.37am....shite.
I rushed out the door, leaving behind my company mobile, thus making my my arrival home in the evening fairly miserable with many, many unopened e-mails and missed calls.
The first primary school visit with the torch flame was an exercise in staying far enough away from the kids so they couldn't smell the stale alcohol. By primary school three I was beginning to feel human again and began to enjoy chatting with a group of hyper excited 6 year olds.
Braes High School welcomed the 'soon to graduate' Primary 7s from Wallcestone Primary and our wee party consisting of yours truly, Sean and a real Olympian.
Rushed home for the work related misery and then Scouts, which was quite jolly with parents and siblings popping in for Torch photos....have I mentioned the Torch enough yet?
