Wednesday 13 June 2012: Olympic Torch
Took the kids over to Chesser this evening to see the Olympic torch being carried through the streets of Edinburgh.
A once in a lifetime experience, as it was billed.
We took a friend of my daughter's too. Between us we had 4 digital cameras and three mobile phones. A challenge to get a shot which summed up the moment.
Maybe I should have taken a pic of the family picnics courtesy of Macdonalds which were being munched as people waited, or the kids walloping each other with the plastic inflatable toys being given away by the sponsors.
Husband went to see the Torch on the Mound in the city centre, where the crowds were bigger, but they were giving out balloons which then obscured the view of those standing at the back!
Just luck might be a way of catching a good shot.
Noticed that the runner's escorts at this stage were the same ones spotted by Pensioner over at Shandon.
