Friday 15 June 2012: Jolly Holidays

We have embarked on our jolly holidays, we have not ventured very far. Yo can even see our homeland from our position on the beach.

There is something brilliant about a jopurney to go on holiday that takes all of ten minutes before you are at the ferry. As we boarded the heavens opened but soon stopped, and we were safe and dry on the ferry all the same.

Straight off the boat and we headed to the beach where the sun even came out. We played in the park and the arcade before heading for a big shop that within moments of starting Girl announced was boring.

We then headed to out castle accomodation. On the way I managed to upset a local who thought they owned the road, technically I suppose they do compared to me, however I spent a fair amount of time here a few years back so am aware of the drivers conditions.

I was quite overwhelmed with our accomodation. We knew we were staying in what was called a castle, at the little ones excitement, but I was expecting a house with a turret and not something as grand and homely as turned out. It is part of the owners house and the garden to our accomodation is simply something us pompey dwellers simply are not used to, though Girl spied a trampoline in the owners garden and keeps telling us that their garden is better than ours.

A quick play in our garden, in the play house and on the slide before dinner and I think she was more than happy with our bit. NOw we just have to get them to sleep in the same room, it could be eventful.
