Early evening wander

After a quiet morning at home, we pottered across to Marchmont to have lunch with some friends. It was another mid-alphabet soup, with M, M, M, N (still expecting) and O.

After excellent food and even better craic (it really is incredibly hard to be genuinely and seriously funny in another language, but M manages it really well), we thought we were heading home. However, since we had the car, we quickly hatched a plan to enjoy the early evening sunshine (such a rare event in Edinburgh this summer). A quick walk on Blackford Hill was warm in the sunshine and bracing in the wind. And it yielded an excellent harvest of photographs, across the 360 degree view (see extras).

Hoping for an early night, as I have a big cycle ride coming up tomorrow.
