Castle Stalker

This is 'our'castle. We adopted it sometime in the late '80's during a holiday in a cottage close by, with American friends and our young children.

Of course, none of us could actually own such a place, but it's like an old friend, so we say 'Hello' if we are in the area, such as today, with our Oban friends,  who knew of a good viewing point. The tide was very low and people were walking and rowing out to the castle for a private event.

Before this we had stopped briefly in Port Appin (see extra photo 1, looking north) admiring the view of the calm sea, after an indifferent morning, when we had taken a lovely muddy walk (in wellies), watching Scotch Argus (Erebia aethiops) butterflies (see extra photo 2, of a male).

A nice, but all too brief, visit.

I have backblipped yesterday's Thursday's birthday boy.
