Blue

I have seen very few butterflies this year but today saw several Common Blue butterflies (Polyommatus icarus) flying around and eventually when one settled nearby I managed to take a photo.  It is the most common blue butterfly in UK and this appears to be a male as it has bright blue wings with a brown border and white fringe while the females are much browner.  The extra photo shows the beautiful markings on its underwing. I was surprised how hairy the butterfly was when I zoomed in on the computer.
