Sunday 17 June 2012: Ferry tempting
Back in the '90s we used to use the ferries from England to Spain, when travelling to Gijon. Plymouth to Santander with Brittany Ferries and Portsmouth to Bilbao with P&O. But it's been many years now since we've been on a ferry. Nowadays we use EasyJet from Asturias airport which is cheap and convenient. There were rumours from time to time that a ferry service from England to Gijon was in the pipeline, but they never came to anything.
However a year or two back LD Lines started this ferry service between Gijon and St.Nazaire in Brittany. I am quite tempted (despite a few hair-raising experiences on ferries in the past).
