Stand

Sparkling dew in the sunlight glistens
As the world stands quiet and listens
For the sound of the approaching band
Celebrating the right to pacefully stand
Remembering that we are free to speak
That they vengance upon us will not wreak
For God and country we had once fought
And from that point we were taught
That all were allowed to have their say
That even an underdog can have its day
And banners raised we proclaim our right
To stand and protest without a fight
With state or commercial pressure
And let me say, let me you reassure
We will walk today like days of old
Before the loyalty we had was sold
To papers with dirty pockets deep
Whose control insiduously did creep
To corrupt our nation with their words
And turn people of thought into herds
Of cattle to be directed at their will
Their base agendas to eagerly fulfil
Till comes the time that thought is gone
That the freedom we fought for is gone
So stand together now good peoples all
Here's the band, follow the rally call
Speak out for those who cannot be heard
Let those in power know we are prepared
To stand as a nation, as a people free
For you are yourself and I, I am me!
