A quizzical Red Billed gull

The most common gull in NZ, and what a handsome chap he is. Those wonderful coloured legs and bill with beautiful detail around the eye and if the extra works look at the black and white tail feathers. The Legs look as though they have been dipped in red wax - from a quick look on line It could mean it's the mating season.

Today we headed north of Paeroa through Thames and along the Firth of Thames. The aim was look for birds and many were spotted included coastal sea birds, the wonderful buffed coloured kingfisher and many Pukeko. Another beauty spotted this morning in the garden was an 'Eastern Rosella', bright red, blue and green/yellow.

After many attempts the extra isnt coming up on the iPad, occasionally it will do so.
